Filmmaker Bios
Sophia Solomon
Director / Director of Photography
Sophia Solomon is BFA Film Production major with a Political Science minor in the Honors Program at Emerson College. Prior to working on Market of Faith, Sophia has pursued her interest in media and the arts with an emphasis on political communication and cinematography. Her past work experiences include interning for Congresswoman Donna Edwards,the White House Communications New Media Department, and lighting and camera work for several student films. She is excited to work on a piece that incorporates both her heritage and her love of film.
Kerri Lines
Executive Producer
Kerri Lines is a BFA Film Production major and an Honors Program student at Emerson College. In addition to Market of Faith, she has worked on a number of student films, and has spent two summers working at Cause & Effect, a production company in New York. In her time there she worked on professional projects, including commercials for Nickelodeon’s celebration of Black History Month, segments for the teaching library of the Harlem Village Academy Charter School, and “Playful Parent” spots for Nick Jr. She will graduate from Emerson in May 2012.
Yareli Morales
Producer / Field Crew
Yareli Morales is a Producing major at Emerson with a passion for production design, home and garden TV, social advocacy, Oprah Winfrey, and Disney. She currently works as a Resident Assistant and is a member of Kappa Gamma Chi, Emerson’s only professional sorority. Recently returned from a semester studying at the Kasteel Well in the Netherlands, she is even more excited about the prospect of being a part of the Los Angeles Program next spring. Next semester, she hopes to apply what she learns about agriculture during her time in Ethiopia to organic farming through the WWOOF Mexico program.
Max Coronel
Producer
Max M. Coronel is a Media Studies major at Emerson College. Currently in his Junior year, Max proudly works as a Resident Assistant for the Office of Housing and Residence Life and runs Wax On Felt, Emerson’s student-organized record label. He hopes to one day work in artist management.
Alexander Kaufman
Producer
Alexander Kaufman is a sophomore political communication major and Boston-based journalist. He is a Metro Desk correspondent for The BostonGlobe and edits the news section of The Berkeley Beacon, EmersonCollege’s student newspaper. His bylines have also appeared in GaugeMagazine, the Bhutan News Service, and The Long-Islander newspapers. A seasoned news and politics junkie, Kaufman hopes to write as a foreign correspondent or work for a non-profit advocating for media freedom, human rights or education. When he’s not nose-deep in newsprint or glued to his laptop, Kaufman enjoys political cartoons, the Twitterverse, hip-hop and electronic music, and George Orwell books.
Matt Lowe
Camera Operator
Matt Lowe is a sophomore Film Production major back from a semester abroad at Emerson’s Kasteel Well. After a busy summer working on BFA films, Alter Ego (2nd AC, 2010) and Gem of the West (2nd AC, 2010), Matt got back into the film game at Emerson this semester, becoming the Co-President of Captured Emotion Documentaries and working on various student films, including the BA documentary, 10,000 Trees (CameraOperator, 2011). In addition to traveling to Ethiopia for Market of Faith this summer, he also hopes to finish a documentary about solar energy in Boston that he began with Captured Emotion last year. When not working on films, Matt enjoys playing Quidditch and riding his bike in Boston.
